About
Rotator cuff disease is amongst the most common reasons to seek musculoskeletal care. The etiology of atraumatic cuff tears remains poorly understood. The proposed project aims to examine genetic predisposition to rotator cuff disease, genetic variants (SNPs), and target genes associated with cuff tears. These data will be analyzed in combination with other biobanks, including cuffGEN, Kaiser, and BioVU. Understanding the etiology of atraumatic rotator cuff tear may prove useful in developing prevention strategies and improving current treatments.
