About
Our susceptibility to many diseases increases markedly as we age. However, scientists believe that people born at the same time often exhibit different biological ages. We often know people who appear older or younger than their age. We believe that this 'biological age' is more indicative of health outlook than calendar age - however it is far more difficult to measure. This project seeks to develop accurate measures of biological age, and simplified measures that can be made using wearable devices such as mobile phones, fitness trackers, or even through simple questionnaires. Importantly, we seek to understand the actions that can improve biological age right down to the individual level, specific to the given person's circumstances. By doing so we will give people the tools to slow aging and increase the number of healthy years of life.
