About
Aims: To investigate the associations between genetic, lifestyle, environmental factors and incidence and mortality of pan-cancer. Scientific rationale: site-specific cancers are known to share common risk factors, including genetic, lifestyle and environmental factors. Many lifestyle and environmental risk factors have been identified, including cigarette smoking, air pollution, occupational exposures, diet and physical activity. Genetic risk was evaluated partially using polygenic risk score for chronic diseases and evidence showed that combining polygenic risk score with rare mutaions help to improve the evaluation of the genetic risk. Understanding the independent and joint effect of genetic, lifestyle and environmental factors on the incidence and mortality of cancer will help to assess the modifiable risk and take strategies to prevent the cancer and reduce the mortality Project duration: 36 months Public health impact: This project is expected to improve understanding of the impact of genetic, lifestyle, environmental factors on the incidence and mortality of cancer and therefore contribute to improving health status and extending healthy lifespan.1 Publication
