About
The proposed research aims to explore the relationships between nutrition, healthy lifestyle choices, and the development of metabolic, cardiovascular, and aging-related diseases. Leveraging the extensive data from the UK Biobank, we will investigate how specific dietary patterns and lifestyle factors, such as physical activity, sleep quality, and smoking status, influence the risk of chronic diseases like type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and neurodegenerative conditions. Additionally, this study will assess how these factors contribute to biological aging processes and promote healthy aging, focusing on biomarkers of aging and longevity.
Our approach will involve analyzing longitudinal data to identify associations between lifestyle factors and disease incidence, utilizing advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to control for confounders such as genetics and socioeconomic status. The goal is to provide a comprehensive understanding of how lifestyle modifications can delay or prevent the onset of age-related diseases and improve overall healthspan. The findings from this research will contribute to the development of targeted public health recommendations for aging populations, aiming to reduce disease burden and enhance the quality of life in older adults.
