Abstract
We read with interest the recent article by Yang et al. ('Hormone therapy and increased risk of psoriasis in reproductive-age and postmenopausal women: a nationwide cohort study and target trial emulation') published in the BJD. The authors claim that hormone therapy increases the risk of psoriasis, nearly doubling it in women of reproductive age and raising it 1.5 times in women who are postmenopausal. We challenge this conclusion, as the study failed to account for critical variables related to endogenous oestrogen exposure, such as age at natural menopause and reproductive years, likely confounding the observed association.</p>
