My research plan is to use data from the database to explore the role of exercise intensity on the development and progression of colorectal cancer through bioinformatics analysis and meta-analysis. The expected length of my study is three years. Scientific rationale! 1) Many previous population-based studies have confirmed a relationship between physical activity and colorectal cancer risk. However, the differential effects of specific exercise intensities have not been paid enough attention to. 2) Physical activity has been proven to influence a variety of biological mechanisms associated with the development of colorectal cancer. These mechanisms include changes in hormone levels, immune function, insulin sensitivity, gut microbiota composition, inflammation and oxidative stress. By exploring the effects of different exercise intensities, we can gain insight into the specific biological pathways by which exercise affects colorectal cancer risk and progression. Public health impact: Understanding the impact of different exercise intensities on colorectal cancer can help develop targeted interventions and exercise programmes for individuals at different risk levels or stages of disease, thus maximising the potential benefits of physical activity in the prevention and management of colorectal cancer.1 Publication
