Abstract
We were looking for relatively cheap and easy ways to improve our predictions about who is at risk of serious cardiovascular disease in the future, based on their current health. We found that one type of white blood cell which is commonly assessed with regular blood samples by your GP may be helpful in determining men at higher risk than others, taking into account all their other known risk factors.
