Abstract
This study aimed to investigate cross-sectional and longitudinal associations between fat mass (i.e., body mass index [BMI], waist circumference [WC], and waist to hip ratio [WTHR]) and hippocampal volumes. Our findings indicate that the detrimental effects of overweight/obesity on the neurological health of individuals may extend beyond the duration of overweight/obesity itself.
Towards a comprehensive predictive model of the contribution of individual and combination of risk factors to brain ageing, neurodegeneration, and cognitive decline.
