Data is regarded as restricted when it is either
- Particularly closely linked to individuals or small groups, especially when combined with other information. Such data is only supplied to researchers who absolutely need it. Generally such data is made available as partial, processed or less granular forms elsewhere on the Showcase.
- Under a legal embargo. Such data is initially supplied only to reseachers who are part of a contractural group. After the embargo expires the data will be unrestricted and become generally available to all.
- Obtained under an agreement with a data provider that imposes restrictions on the purposes for which it may be used.
